Dr. Ali Behmard - Dentist

Dr. Ali Behmard grew up in the North Shore. He attended university in Vancouver and completed both his Bachelor’s degree in Honours Physiology and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS) at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Shortly after completing his dental degree, he further pursued his passion for dentistry by doing a one-year General Practice Residency (GPR) in Vancouver. This exposed him to further training in oral maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and pedodontics.

In 2001, Dr Behmard travelled to Vietnam to work at Ho Chi Minh city’s major trauma centre as a dental resident, where he treated maxillofacial trauma patients. Upon returning to Vancouver, he used his experience to promote international dentistry to other dental residents in the city.

Continuing education is a very important part of Dr. Behmard’s philosophy because he truly believes in being on the cutting edge of his field in order to provide his patients with the highest quality of care. He also teaches future dentists as a Clinical Instructor at UBC Dental School.

He has further expanded his training by attending multiple externships in advanced general dentistry and oral surgery in St. Petersburg, Florida; Houston, Texas; and the University of Washington. He is a member of the BC Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Vancouver & District Dental Society. He also belongs to multiple study clubs in the fields of esthetic dentistry and oral implants, where he regularly meets groups of practicing dentists under the guidance of a mentoring dentist distinguished in these areas of practice. He just recently returned from Michigan, where he was trained in the new field of computerized dentistry (CEREC system).

Dr. Behmard is newly married, and his wife is a family physician working in West Vancouver. Besides his work and family, Dr. Behmard loves travelling, skiing, running, and playing soccer. He is happy to be back in the North Shore to contribute to the community he grew up in.
