At Park Royal Village Dental Centre we understand that you do not trust just anybody with your child’s health.

Parents usually have two major concerns when choosing a pediatric dentist for their child.

• First you must trust the dentist who will be caring for your child’s teeth. You must know that they will be very professional and treat your child’s teeth in the most comfortable way possible.
• The second factor is the ability for the dentist and his assistants to connect with your child and ease the fears that many children experience at the dentist.

Dr. Behmard grew up on the North Shore and received his dental degree from the University Of British Columbia. He completed his degree and went on to a one year general practice residency in Vancouver and this is where he started to be exposed to pediatric dentistry as well as other types of dentistry. After he was done his residency he chose to go to work in Vietnam at Ho Chi Man city’s main trauma center. Here he used his skills to help some of the worlds less fortunate children. On his return he helped promote this type of international dentistry as a way dentists could go and help countries where dental care is less available. Eventually he decided to move back to the North Shore of Vancouver and opened the Park Royal Village Dental Centre.

As Dr. Behmard has said before he was not a fan of dentists as a child. He found that the stark white walls and other typical feelings of a dentist office were unnerving for a child(and for adults!). This is why he took great care in designing his office to be friendlier and more comfortable for children and adults alike. Starting with the lobby, which has a warmer feeling then most office, there is a fireplace, wood paneling, large chairs, and a general inviting feeling. Once in the chair Dr. Behmard has invested in the most up to date equipment to help minimize any pain during your child pediatric checkup or operations.

Dr. Behmard and all his dental staff have great demeanors that help put children at ease. They all try to understand any problems or fears your child may be having and help them work through them before they become a phobia.
